Some of these teachers went on to bigger and better things - Mr Pickering (above, second right) became Principal of the Northern Beaches Secondary College and Mrs Young (below, far right) became Principal of Merrylands High School. Many of them started their careers with us at Penrith High!
PENRITH HIGH SCHOOL REUNION - WELCOME TO OUR BLOG
Update 6 October 2008.
ANY OF THE PHOTOS CAN BE DOWNLOADED BY CLICKING ON THE SLIDESHOW - IT TAKES YOU TO THE PICASA SITE.
Wow - I think it safe to say we had a blast! What a great group of people and thank you to all those who made the effort to come - and if you weren't able to, hopefully you can still get some laughs out of these photos (although for some I think you had to be there!!!)
We hope you have as much fun reading this as we have in putting it together - we hope you'll add comments and send us photos to upload, so that it becomes a great memory for all of us.
We started in 2005 when Cheryl Clarke (Flak) decided life was too short and she wanted to make contact with everyone she went to school with.
After our first coffee meeting we decided we needed something stronger and we've been meeting at the pub or club every two months since!
Cheryl wanted to organise a full-on reunion, but as she got sicker, that went on the backburner - we have decided to organise one for her and just luckily it fits with the final year any of us went to school (but unluckily she won't be here to enjoy it).
It's now been 12 years since our last reunion, so we hope that's long enough to pique everyone's interest..... come along and have some fun.
Julie, Sophie, Kay, Marina, Debbie, Janette, Helen and Ros.

More fun (this time with teachers....)
Mr Alan Graham was one of our favourite teachers - Maths what's more! Mrs Earp, Mrs Young and Mr McKeon can also be clearly seen.
Some of these teachers went on to bigger and better things - Mr Pickering (above, second right) became Principal of the Northern Beaches Secondary College and Mrs Young (below, far right) became Principal of Merrylands High School. Many of them started their careers with us at Penrith High!
And what about this art work? I don't know who did it, but isn't it fantastic?

We had some great carnivals - swimming and athletics - some of us were 'House captains', others great athletes (or were we just legends in our own minds???) I've tried to capture a few of the images to bring back those memories. If you have your own photos, tell one of the organisers..... or leave a comment and we'll contact you.

Sophie says 18 girls came to us from St Nic's - what was the old rhyme?
Apparently the catholics and 'publics' chanted something at each other as they went past the schools!!!!
Some of us came from Penrith South Public School .... if you have your Year 6 photo, send it and I'll post it!
Ian Keuning has sent us this photo of Penrith Public School Kindergarten class........ Thanks Ian!!!

And now for some paraphernalia.....
Wow - don't some people keep funny things....
Russell Howroyd's award - something to do with never being in uniform!!!Thanks to Helen for giving us this memory - the original invitation to the Year 12 farewell when we were in Year 11 and organised it....
Julie, Cath, Helen and Debbie ready to go to the Year 12 farewell when we were in Year 11- do you still have your photo?
And thanks to Debbie for our original Year 12 farewell invitation....
Look at the cost! Not bad that our reunion is costing us less than 10 times that amount.
Who said inflation was bad? - although that was for a sit down dinner, wasn't it? - ours is just finger food remember.....
Our reunion will be held in the very same venue... (it hasn't changed much, either!!)
